Medicare Prescription Drug Plans
When can I make changes to my current plan?

Question:  Can I change my Medicare prescription drug plan at any time during the year?

Answer:  Generally, Medicare allows you to change your Part D prescription drug plan only during annual open enrollment, which is Oct. 15 through Dec. 7 each year. However, if you move or enter a nursing facility, you are permitted to switch your plan using a special enrollment period. Also, if you participate in the Extra Help With Medicare program, you can change your plan anytime during the year. If you would like to review your current prescription drug plan, contact one of our Medicare benefits counselors. Our certified benefits counselors are available to help you sort through your options and assist you in applying for the benefits to which you are entitled. Review our Medicare Benefits & Informational Seminars page and reach out to a counselor at 757-222-4524.
