Become an Advocate
Older Virginians and their families have a powerful advocate in South Hampton Roads – Senior Services. As mandated in the Older Americans Act, we represent the interests of older people and their families to local, state, and federal legislators.
That means you’ll see Senior Services’ staff and board members playing key roles in organizations such as the South Hampton Roads Coalition on Aging, the Hampton Roads Legislative Advocacy Network, the Virginia Association of Area Agencies on Aging, and local commissions on aging. Another advocacy focus: South Hampton Roads members of the Virginia General Assembly.
