To Our Seniors, Employees, Volunteers and Support Personnel:

The health and safety of our senior community is SSSEVA’s highest priority. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread throughout the country, we want to share some of the actions our organization is taking to help protect both our seniors and our employees.

We are closely monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services and local health officials.

As a result:

  • We are increasing the frequency and rigor of cleaning and sanitization in all of our senior center nutrition sites, I-Ride Transit vehicles and office environments.
  • Based on the guidance we’ve received and the actions we’ve taken, our programs and services remain in operation.
  • Information on SSSEVA events, activities and programs will be kept up to date on our website and social media platforms to support seniors and community partners in making decisions that are best for them.

All of us at SSSEVA understand that this issue is especially a cause for concern to older adults. The measures taken to avoid exposure to COVID-19 can be disruptive and feel scary; Rest assured that we’re doing all we can to make sure you feel safe, comfortable and informed.

As circumstances continue to develop, please know that we will make our decisions with the health and well-being of our seniors, employees, volunteers, and support personnel as our highest priority.
